Our 48 Europe City Guides

By Hank Schrader, USMA ’71 Europe Destination & River Cruise Expert
So you want to go visit Europe and want to see the best sights in the most efficient manner. Although there are some great guide books available, who wants to tear a book apart or lug an entire guide book around for 3 weeks for a one day trip? Our solution—48 Europe City guides that are 2-4 typewritten pages anyone can easily slip in a pocket or a purse. These are a great way to not miss the important sights and provide practical tips to enhance your trip. But the best thing is—they are FREE—just send us an e-mail and we will send you a PDF copy of as many guides as you desire.
Why Should You Trust Our Guides?
To really understand the value of our guides, a little background is necessary. I have been traveling to Europe for 44+ years (since the summer of 1971) and since 1989, Anne & I have visited Europe 2-4 times a year almost every year—about 27 years or so. We have led a D-Day multiple country trip and 3 different river cruise groups. We have led pre and post river cruise tours in Prague, Paris, Nuremberg and Budapest and will shortly lead a post tour in Lyon, France. We are both certified Western Europe Destination Specialists. Between us, we have visited 35 of the 51 European countries, most multiple times. The bottom line—we are Europe experts and are constantly learning more about Europe so we can get you the best value for your vacation.
Using Our Guides
Of the 48 guides, we have personally visited 41 of the 48 cities, most multiple times. Each guide is slightly different, but most have the following items 1) Sample Day visit; 2) Key Sights and Things to Do; 3) Getting Around; and, 4) Day Trips from the city to other country attractions. The Key Sights section has a brief description of the sight, possibly a website to learn more about the attraction, and metro/tube stop, if applicable. For some of the more popular cities, we even have PowerPoint PDFs so you can actually see many of the attractions. Since hours and admission prices change, we only list whether there is an admission charge but always indicate the days an attraction is closed.
